After completing her bachelor of sciences degree from the University of McMaster, Dr. Kissel enrolled in the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) graduating with her doctor of chiropractic degree. Following this degree Dr. Kissel completed the two year post graduate residency program in Sports Sciences at CMCC, giving her the designation of Chiropractic Sports Specialist. This program provided her with extra training in the management of sport injuries and research.  Dr. Kissel's passion centers around all sports but specifically running, and track and field.  While at McMaster Dr. Kissel was the team captain of the McMaster track and field team frequenting the CIS National meet as a sprinter. Dr. Kissel has since migrated to distance running and completed her first half marathon in 2007, and is now a triathlete. Dr. Kissel  continued her passion in track and field events as the team doctor for the Over The Top track club from 2008-2010. She was also the team doctor for the Canadian Junior Taekwondo team at the 2009 Junior PanAm Games in El Salvador and was also part of the core medical team for the Canadian Track and Field Championships and Canadian National Beach Volleyball Championships in 2010. Dr. Kissel also travelled to the Dominican Republic with Chiropractors Without Borders in 2009, which was a life changing experience.

Dr. Kissel examines patients using a functional orthopedic approach to ensure treatment is applied appropriately. She encourages patients to take an active role in their treatment and is a firm believer in an integrative approach to patient care. She also enjoys treating children and youth athletes.  Dr. Kissel utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques including chiropractic manipulations of the spine and extremities, Active Release Technique, Graston technique Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, athletic taping, laser and ultrasound therapy, and injury rehabilitation and strengthening.
