CHIROPRACTIC CARE

Chiropractic care is legislated as primary care, and known for providing symptomatic treatments for patients with chronic conditions.  The term Chiropractic means “done by hand”.  Treatments involve Manual Therapy focusing on the neuromuscular system and manipulation of the spine and pelvis, joints and soft tissue.  This can also in some cases be accomplished by the use of adjustments.  An adjustment is a highly skilled, precise movement applied by hand to a joint of the body.  Adjustments loosen the joint slightly and restore proper movement and function of the body.   Chiropractors also demonstrate proper exercises, and are interested in patient lifestyle management; posture, gait and functional Analysis and are Orthotics specialists.  Overall, proper alignment and functioning of the spine relates to complete wellness.

WHY SHOULD YOU VISIT A CHIROPRACTOR?

One of the most common reasons patients visit Chiropractors is due to lower back pain, or neck, back and hip pain or discomfort in general, they also work with high performance athletes and individuals to help reduce wear and tear on their joints throughout their training.  Some other reason may be:

  • Whiplash
  • Spinal problems
  • Seniors having difficulty with mobility
  • Headaches
  • Pregnancy related back ache
  • Strains and sprains
  • Back, hip and neck discomfort in children
  • Joint injuries
  • General health and wellness care
  • Work and sports injuries
  • Education and consultation on posture
  • Gait Analysis
  • Arthritis
  • Limited range of motion
  • ...and more

In Canada, patients are able to contact a Licensed Chiropractor of their choice without the need for a medical doctor’s referral.  Upon visiting to a Chiropractor, the doctor will assess your situation and determine if Chiropractic care is the most ideal treatment for you, or will refer you to other doctors.  At Absolute Endurance Training and Therapy, our Chiropractors are highly skilled and members of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO). The CCO is the governing body established by the provincial government to regulate chiropractors in Ontario.

Chiropractors also treat those who have suffered injuries from Motor Vehicle Accidents and the workplace; therefore, check to see if you have coverage under your insurance plan(s). Insurers include the Workers' Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and coverage through their employer-provided or private Extended Health Benefit (EHB) plans and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) coverage through automobile insurers.
